Get off the beaten path with a 4-wheel drive (4WD) adventure through some of Bali's most remote areas with Bali's Adventure Specialists, "SOBEK Bali". Once off the beaten track you'll discover traditional Balinese culture that continues to thrive amongst rural communities and old kingdoms.

SAFARI INFORMATION & HIGHLIGHTS
A 4 wheel drive, air-conditioned vehicle picks you up from your hotel and takes you to the small village of Sedawa in Bangli, East Bali, where the adventure begins. At approximately 8.30 there's a short briefing on the day's program and highlights of areas that you will visit.

Then it's on to the first stop at Bali's fabled rice terraces where you take a pleasurable walk through the rice fields, admiring the workmanship and skill that goes into creating the terraces, the beautiful view and the many colors of the rice fields as the growing season progresses. Moving on you head towards an area where you discover the exotic tropical plants and wild flowers of the region before crossing a traditional bamboo bridge that takes you over a beautiful waterfall. Finally, just before a well deserved break, you get an up close look at the fascinating irrigation system that has taken centuries to develop and is the cornerstone of Balinese culture.

Visible from the location of the coffee break is the ancient pool of the former Balinese garden palace and ancient temple. Once refreshed, the 4WD heads towards the village of Selisihan, one of many traditional villages in Bangli. The beautiful mountain scenery in the distance is only enhanced by the thrill of the off road drive. This is a continuous drive - however the driver is more than happy to stop to take photos. Leaving Selisihan, you continue onward to the village of Sanggem in Karangasem. Keep your camera handy to capture the remarkable panoramic views of the rice terraces as you drive over an ancient Dutch colonial bridge.

It is late afternoon and almost time to start heading back to your hotel however there is one more stop at the Bukit Batu Village in Bangli where you learn about the traditional stone used for building the main gates of Bali's temples. From Bukit Batu Village your 4WD heads back to your hotel - arriving at around 5.00 pm.

If you are staying in Nusa Dua your day will normally start between the hours of 7.15 and 7.45 am.

Sanur : between 7.30 and 8.00 am.
Ubud : between 8.00 and 8.30 am.
